CUSTOM INTEGRATED ASSEMBLIES |

| ETTI's vast array of
high performance components make it possible for ETTI engineers to very quickly
integrate a number of components into a single assembly to meet any specific requirements
of custom applications. Integrated assemblies can offer advantages in size, weight,
performance, functional testing, and cost when compared to designs built from discreet
components. ETTI has developed a computer automated test station for integrated
assemblies to reduce production cost, improve test reliability, and increase production
capacity. In one production application this system performs over 650 individual
electrical tests at 3 temperatures and prints the corresponding data report in less than 20
minutes. BEAMFORMERS ETTI beamformers are custom products with
configurations and frequency characteristics designed to fulfill individual customer
requirements for frequency range, port configuration, package styles, and test data. They
are all constructed from a collection of magic tees, 0°, 180°, and 90° hybrids. The use
of automated testing simplifies data collection and analysis. The test data available for
these devices range from simple port to port phase and amplitude data to complex
calculations of elevation and azimuth plane rotation, orthogonality, compensation factors,
and boresight errors. FREQUENCY DISCRIMINATORS ETTI custom delay line discriminators are
available for center frequencies from 60 MHz to 1 GHz in a 1 inch by 1 inch pin style
package size. State-of-the-art temperature compensation techniques are used to provide
exceptional slope accuracy over wide temperature ranges and drive level variations.
Computer automated testing is used to provide test data for custom test requirements. ETTI phase shifters are available in both
0-180° and 0-360° configurations with center frequency extending from 10 MHz to 500 MHz
and bandwidths up to an octave. ETTI custom phase comparators are available in
narrowband and wideband configurations in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 1 GHz.
Proprietary design, construction, and testing techniques have yielded the highest
performance devices in the industry. Models are available for both full military
requirement and high volume commercial applications. OTHER INTEGRATED ASSEMBLIES ETTI also produces other IQ integrated assemblies including Image Reject Mixers, QPSk Modulators and Demodulators, Voltage Controlled Phase Shifters, and Vector Modulators in miniature leaded, surface mount and connectorized packages.
CUSTOM SUBASSEMBLIES ETTI's subsystem capability began with products
developed in the late 70's and this capability has been continually expanded upon. The
engineering staff has extensive experience in all aspects of RF circuit design. Design
capabilities include amplifiers, oscillators, filters, log amplifiers, frequency
synthesizers, multicouplers and demodulators. These capabilities are integrated into
custom designed subassemblies including voltage controlled oscillators, synthesizers,
switch matrices, frequency translators, and special purpose receivers. The examples noted
below are representative of subassemblies that ETTI engineers have developed. ETTI custom designed switch matrices are
tailored to meet customer requirements. Capabilities include PIN diode or mechanical
switches with up to 240 cross points for frequencies from DC to 200 MHz. Matrices can be
supplied with step attenuators, amplifiers, power dividers, local or remote control, and
internal power supplies. The mechanical configurations include complete rack mountable
designs and small modular designs. One representative of ETTI switch matrices is our
model 1800. It is a full fan out, digitally controlled, 8x8 high isolation (-100dB) switch
matrix covering the 90-180 MHz frequency band. This switch matrix uses pin diode switches
and a unique mechanical configuration to achieve high isolation. ETTI engineers can design a translator to the customer's specifications providing a minimum of in-band spurious signals for frequency bands in the 1 MHz to 2000 MHz range. These units can be supplied as complete rack-mounted systems or stand alone modules for control by the customer. Capabilities include internal synthesizers (fixed frequency or tunable), multiband preselection, gain control, and linear or limiting IFs. ETTI frequency translators have found applications as block converters, high speed stepping translators, IF to IF converters, and base band converters for digital signal processing. One representative of ETTI frequency translators is a high speed stepping translator converting the 90-180 MHz frequency band to an IF of 5 MHz+/-2.5 MHz for digital signal processing. This translator uses a single loop phase locked synthesizer for the first LO and a crystal oscillator for the second LO. A digital control bus is provided for control of the first LO. |
